Comedians

Page Hurwitz began her career as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco at Josie's Cabaret and Cobb's Comedy Club, the fabled venues that also helped launch the careers of Margaret Cho, Patton Oswalt, and many others. Hurwitz spent the next several years touring the U.S., performing at clubs and colleges, and appearing in the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival and landing her own half-hour comedy special on MTV/Logo networks. Her story-based brand of stand-up led to several writing opportunities. Hurwitz wrote a popular monthly humor column for Girlfriends Magazine, contributed to The Nation and teamed with director Ted Demme on scripted comedy projects at Comedy Central and Touchstone/ABC. Since then she has worked as a writer and producer on various TV and film projects for TBS, Comedy Central, NBC, ABC, USA, Bravo, E!, and Warner Bros, among others. She has served as an Executive Producer on a wide variety of shows, including Last Comic Standing (NBC), The Marriage Ref (NBC), Tabatha Takes Over (BRAVO), and The Rosie Show (OWN). In 2012, Hurwitz partnered with Wanda Sykes to form their own production company, Push It Productions. The company has successfully revived the NBC franchise Last Comic Standing (on which Hurwitz serves as show runner) and has original scripted and unscripted projects atNBC, BET, and LOGO.The company’s first series, Wanda Sykes Presents Herlarious (OWN) received a Gracie Award in 2014. Push It currently has a first look production deal with Universal Television.
